A trailer load of asbestos has been fly-tipped in the layby on Yardley Road, just off the A508.
This has been reported to West Northants Council (WNC) for clearance and investigation by their Environmental Crime unit. Asbestos is a controlled, hazardous material — dumping it illegally puts everyone at risk and dumps the clean-up cost onto you the local taxpayers.
The most likely explanation? Someone paid cash to have it “cheaply” removed, and the cowboy who took the job tipped it here instead of disposing of it properly.
If you had asbestos removed recently, or know someone who did, or have any information — please pass it to: envcrime@westnorthants.gov.uk
