Gritting in Yardley & Potterspury

WNC have two gritting standards, a precautionary route that is for ‘normal’ cold frosty times and an adverse route that is when there is snow or its been at or below zero for at leat 48 hour continuously.

All the villages in the ward have a precautionary route salted except Potterspury and Yardley Gobion. I have raised this with WNC.

The answer was:

the reason why Potterspury and Yardley Gobion were never added to the precautionary network was that they were linked by the A5 and the A508 and as salt tracks into the villages this would give some coverage.  We also do not have any knowledge of accident data in this area where incidents are related to winter weather conditions.

WNC continued that they would review this in September.

I did point out that other villages that sit between the A5 & A508 are on the precautionary network and this seems to have little logic.

I have written again to ask if this review can be expedited in the mean time drive carefully.
