I have written to the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner, Danielle Stone to express my concerns at the outcome of Nick Adderley’s disciplinary hearing. The verdict of the Disciplinary Hearing is that Nick Adderley is a fantacist and liar.
Adderley has been a police officer for 35 years. In that time he must have given statements, taken witness statements, been to court, conducted and supervised investigations. When he stood up in court and promised to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, did he?
Let’s take a hypotheical example PC/ Sergeant / Inspector Adderley saw Mr X coming out a shop with televison under his coat. He was the only witness. X is convicted. Is that safe? If Mr X was captured on CCTV and seen by three others, then I am relaxed about it.
Every single case that he has ever been in contact with needs a review. We have an ongoing scandal with the Post Office we cannot risk more. The Home Office need to get involved now and order an eqnuiry to cover all areas and forces Adderley has been involved with, this is much bigger than Northants.
Here in Northants the disgraced Stephen Mold has another fine mess to add to the long list. He recommended Adderley for the job. Mold then also indulged in the retire and re-hire nonsense to help his pension arrangements. At the time Mold said he had “every confidence in Adderley”, telling the Panel ‘I think we’ve got the best man, why would I go looking for another?’
The Police and Crime Panel has failed Northants too hiring Adderley TWICE and not checking once.

Dear Danielle
Following the recent dismissal of Chief Constable Nick Adderley from Northants Police the potential ramifications of this conduct in office are quite frightening.
The disciplinary panel have found him guilty of gross misconduct for inventing items on his CV and claiming to have served in conflicts and other services when this was invention. In short, the disciplinary panel says Nick Adderley is a proven liar and person of dubious character. This verdict needs to apply across the whole of his police service.
As a police officer Nick Adderley should have investigated crime, written evidence statements, taken evidence statements, gone to court, sworn to tell the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Did he?
At preset we have a the Post Office Horizon Inquiry looking into the biggest miscarriage of justice ever. Are you convicted that we have no unsafe convictions on the testimony of Nick Adderley?
Every case he has been involved with over 35 years needs to be checked. Every statement taken or given to him needs to be validated. Everyone convicted on evidence he may have given needs review. I need your assurance that innocent people have not been convicted on the say of this now proven liar.
I am asking that you establish, probably with the Home Office a full enquiry to check out these matters and provide me with certainty that all convictions, investigations etc are safe and legitimate.
