I have written a letter of complaint about the conduct of Conservative Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Northants Stephen Mold. My letter sets out multiple breaches of the Code of Conduct that he must observe and possible criminal offences.
There has been much speculation in the press that Mr Mold is in a relationship with Ms Marzec, whom he appointed to be Chief Fire Officer, without following the proper process. I don’t know if that is true or not. If it should be proven to be true then I think that would constitute misconduct in a public office that is an offence. It would also have been a disclosable pecuniary interest which again would be an potential crime if undeclared.
The complaint has been sent to IPOC for further investigation. This is the correct and proper thing to do and they must now thoroughly investigate all the circumstances about this fiasco.
